Our Nusa Penida Trip

Private Boat Trip To Nusa Penida - Bali Safest Driver

Things to know before visiting Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida is the largest of three islands  off the south eastern coast of Bali, the others being Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. However, tourist infrastructure is very limited here but growing fast.

The huge island only has 14 village, peopple mainly farm cassava and corn but due lack of getting fresh water little can be grown outside the rain season.

Due to a lack of natural fresh water, little is grown or produced on Nusa Penida, and even some basic foodstuffs come in by boat. Visitors should therefore expect higher prices than in Bali, and not bank on any tourism-related luxury items being available for purchase here.

Things to do on Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida is the best keep-secret of Bali. Nusa Penida should not be visited as a beach destination, you should visit this it for its incredible high coastal cliffs and yet untouched nature. Also Nusa Penida is dominated by limestone hills, with a thin layer of soil that grasslands can grow well in the hills.

 Rumah Pohon (Tree House Molenteng)

The Molenteng tree house is located at an altitude facing directly to Atuh Beach. The location is what makes The Molenteng tree house be an attraction for tourists who want to visit.

The existence of the location of this tree is rather extreme and challenging that is not too big, but has many branches and twigs. There are wooden staircases neatly arranged and rope as a handle to allow visitors to enter the tree house.

This tree house is located around Atuh Beach. Precisely in Banjar Pelilit, Tanglad village, Nusa Penida Bali. If you want a different tour, The Molenteng Tree House is the right choice, do not worry about transportation, because our Bali Safest Driver is ready to deliver you comfortably and safely.

Teletubbies Hill

In 2000 there was a television series titled teletubbies, a character named Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Poo. The characters of these children are depicted living in the fields of grass with beautiful green hills.

In Nusa Penida Bali there is also a place like teletubbies residence. The place is Bukit Gamal or now better known as Teletubbies Hill. This place is called Bukit Gamal because this area is overgrown with gamal trees that are used as cattle feed.

Nusa Penida is dominated by limestone hills, with a thin layer of soil that grasslands can grow well in the hills. As well as Teletubbies Hill, green pastures look so beautiful covering the hillside, a number of trees also adorn this area, besides gamal trees, some of them grow well like cashew tree and Juwet tree (fruit like grape) its good to eat. From the top of the hill you can spread the view to all directions, from a distance visible views of the sea and the homes of the people.

If you want to see the green hills of Teletubbies Hill, the most important thing to avoid visiting during the dry season, because the surrounding scenery will be different, barren and arid land, turned into a brown hill. Because that you have to select the right moment that is during the rainy season, at this time the hill is full of green grass and plants thrive.

Kelingking Beach

Kelingking Beach is a hidden beach in the village of Bunga Mekar, on the southwestern coast of Nusa Penida island. When you’re planning to go down to the beach, please think twice because the hike is at least a 30-minute incredible steep path. The secluded beach it self is down a rugged 400m cliffside hike. But do go halfway down and take a moment to be amazed by what Mother Nature created here.

Pure paradise, incredibly white sand and a piece of land shaped like a dinosaur head. You can enjoy one of the most breath-taking views over the hills and small strip of white sand from atop a hill of the same name. The sight features a limestone headland covered in green, against the deep blue waters of the open Indian Ocean. This unique formation is reminiscent of a Tyrannosaurus Rex head, hence its nickname ‘T-Rex Bay’.

Enjoying the scenic seascape and taking photos and selfies from above would be sufficient for most. You can enjoy the sweeping views from a purpose-built platform, which is bordered by bamboo fences. If you dare the challenging trek down to the beach, make sure it’s during low tide. Some sections of the path can be steep, requiring a bit of rock climbing, especially on the way back up. This is recommended only for the fit and adventurous.

Broken Beach

Broken Beach is a large cave that has lost its roof over time. Watch from above as the water come in with the tide, it has a small beach but this cannot be accessed by land. A great place to take photos and giant mantas can sometimes been seen swimming in the sea below. Angel billabong is about 200 metres away, it is a natural infinity pool – best viewed at low tide. Be careful when climbing down to take a swim.

Angel Billabong

is the final estuary of the river that empties into the island of Nusa Penida. The estuary of the river has a very clear and calm water. Besides, there are beautiful fault that form a green turquoise pond. At the bottom of this estuary there is a yellow-green rock that adds more to Angel’s Billabong’s beauty.

Well.. if you look a clear pool like that, surely you wat to swim, right! but to get to the water you have to go down the rocky cliffs rather sharp and steep. So it takes an adventurous spirit to be able to dare to descend.

To be able to swim or down to the location of this natural pool, it’s better to ask the guide or the local residents. Because this place under certain conditions, especially if the sea water is high or wavy, then we will not go down. In this condition the risk carried by the waves to the sea and can also be crashed into the rock cliffs are very steep. So, be carefull, keep your safety first!! try to come at a dropping or low tide and be prepared for the rugged road! Also know that there is no bathroom, but there is a small stand right by Broken Beach to buy snacks and water.

So.. if you want to explore the beauty nature and look for the best photo spot in this places, make us Bali Safest Driver as your partner. With a comfortable car and professional drivers we will provide maximum sevice so that your trip while visiting Bali will be more fun.
